Not many people know that I suffer from an autoimmune disease.

 

It doesn’t even have a name.

Doctors couldn’t figure it out. My body just decided to attack itself.

I mean what’s up with that?

I suffered for years with no help from traditional medicine. It actually made me worse.

 

My condition came on slowly and insidiously like most chronic conditions.

 

I had to go through multiple surgeries and procedures for kidney inflammation, urinary tract infections, and chronic pain.

The more I had, the worse I got. Interesting how that happens to so many.

Medicine’s answer was more pills and antibiotics. It got so bad I had to leave practice and stop teaching for eight months.

The brain fog was the worst. I could barely remember anything and I was taking three naps a day.

The energy level was zero. That’s not living.

I FELT LIKE I WAS DYING.

NOTE: THAT'S A SIGN

Finally, I had enough and empowered myself to find an answer on my own. That is when I discovered gut health. The gut is 70% of your immune system.

My immune system was beyond shot. And holy cow I was dropping atomic bombs of antibiotics in my gut the entire time! The worst was of them all was Bactrim. That stuff kills everything. It was slowly killing me!

I developed a systemic candida infection and ended up with diverticulitis and leaky gut. None of my doctors mentioned these as culprits.

 

I am a Chiropractor for goodness sakes and even I didn’t know to look at the gut.

 

So I did some online research and started doing what most ‘gut experts’ recommended. Taking probiotics, fermented foods and anti-inflammatory supplements.

I started feeling better and got some of my of my brain back, but I still looked really bloated and inflamed. I quickly hit a wall. I doubled down and added more of the same. Mistake!

I got worse. I got so frustrated!

What am I doing wrong? Why am I getting worse? I’m doing all this anti-inflammatory stuff...

 

TURNS OUT I WAS DOING THE WRONG STUFF.

FOR ME!!!

 

That's the key point. Recovery for autoimmune disease and immune system issues needs to be client specific because individual history matters as to the root cause.

I reached out to my friend Dr. Stewart Gillespie for advice. He’s a friend and functional medicine expert. (He’s the guy teaching this course with me).

What he said blew my mind...

"Perry, you are doing all the wrong stuff to help your immune system."

Needless to say, I was upset but also happy to know there was still hope. Even though all that stuff I was doing CAN BE good, it was just not good for MY immune system.

 

I was giving myself more inflammation from the anti-inflammation protocol!

 

What the hell!

We changed things up and I stopped taking everything and began a few new ones.

LESSON NUMBER 1

 

It’s what you stop doing that often makes you better more than what you start doing.

Stewart said if it’s the right combination you will feel a difference in three days and if you stay on it for 30 days you will be a different person.

Well, folks, he was right.

Within 3 days I felt amazing. No more naps. No more brain fog.

I started dropping weight like a stone. In 30 days I lost 17 pounds without trying.

Bloating and swelling went bye bye (That’s what happens when you reduce inflammation).

 

LESSON NUMBER 2

 

Fat storage is used to move inflammation away from the vital organs. It’s a sign of toxicity.

Reduce systemic inflammation and your body will grant weight loss. I said to Stewart, "how in the hell do people not know about this stuff?"

I was doing everything the ‘experts’ told me and I was worse.

So many people are needlessly suffering because they just don’t know what they don’t know.
